Egg Hunt Dress

This is the dress I started this morning, so I am happy with how it turned out for a quick sewing project. I really wanted a cute little dress she could throw on in the morning and hunt eggs! She loves it, so I am happy and the pocket in the front is perfect fro her as she loves to gather stuff and bring it with her!

  1. I love the dress!!!! I want one for Keara, and I love those fabrics. I am pretty sure I have those fabrics. And of course the pictures are awesome. Emmary looks more like you the older she gets, at least in the last picture I really see you in her. Happy Easter!!!!

  3. Thank you guys!!
No pattern, I just saw a few I liked and decided to try and make it similarly but different. I love the knot dresses, so I went off of that, some have aprons, so I thought it would be cute to make it a pocket instead so she could hunt eggs and put them in her pocket as it is so hard to keep track of a toddler's basket when you are at those egg hunts.... The other dresses were a little more poofy than I like, so I kept all her pleating in the back so she could bend over and have room to be comfy, but have a clean front.
All in all, there are some minor things I would have done differently had I had a ton of time,(like widen the shoulder straps and add a fabric egg on the bottom of the dress by the hem) but I HATE sewing projects that take forever, so this was perfect for me and she can wear it on other days than just Easter time.
Thank you guys again!!!!! And Margaret, you sold me the green material that is on the top when you worked at the goose, when it was still over by the gym.... And Emmary and Keara were not even a thought in our minds yet! The pocket is minky dot and the body is by one of the more popular lines, though I can not recall the name... I think it is, Amy Butler if I remember right, but I'm not sure.
